Officers' Club Saturday Socials

Saturday Socials is a Cultural Enrichment Program for Officers’ Club Members and their guests and bring members together for an afternoon of sophistication, socializing and enlightenment, one Saturday every month. This program is comprised of talks and demonstrations by local experts in visual art, horticulture, wine, ballroom dance, sports and culinary art. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served complimentary to all members.

Planned Saturday Socials are:

  • May 17, 2pm: Wine Tasting, featuring Star Canyon Winery.
  • June 21,3pm: Local Attractions and Secret Hot Spots
  • July 12, 2pm: Pastry Class

Officers' Club Advisory Meeting

The next Officers' Club Advisory Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 3 p.m. at the Officers' Club. Brass Bartending is Back!

The Fort Bliss Officers' Club would like to invite you and your unit/battalion/brigade to have a Brass Bartending event. Brass Bartending is a fun and creative way to raise funds for you unit. Unit, Brigade or Battalion Commanders assist in tending the bar in exchange for tips to go to towards their unit fund. The following Friday dates are available: May 16, May 23 and May 30. It's Bunco Time

You are invited to the Officers' Club on Friday, June 6 to indulge yourselves in an evening of fun, food, friendly chatter and BUNCO! Bunco, an easy to learn and entertaining dice game, will start at 6:30pm, following a social & dinner hour starting at 5:30. Come roll your dice and pay the price they show (max. $10). Snacks are included in this night of fun. Prizes will be given out for the most Win's, the most Bunco's and the most Losses. Reservations are not required, it will be a first come, first served basis. Centennial Club

Speed Dating is Back!

Due to popular demand, Speed Dating is back! The event will be held at the Centennial on May 9, June 13, July 11 and August 8 starting at 7 p.m. There is a $5 entry fee and registration is from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. the day of the event. Arrive early as space is limited to the first 25 females/males. Participants will rotate tables every 3 min. and be given a card to keep track of their dates' information. The exchange of personal information will be completely voluntary. All off post guests should enter, with current car insurance and registration, through Biggs Gate to obtain a gate pass. Jr. Enlisted Nights at the Centennial

Every Thursday from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. and Friday from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. is Jr. Enlisted Night at the Centennial's Club Metro! There is no cover charge for Active Duty Military Personnel and a $3 cover for all others. There will be snacks available and a pay-as-you-go bar. Stop by and enjoy music, music videos, pool tables, no-stakes poker and video games such as Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and more games on Wii. Wii Warrior Challenge

From June 23-28, MWR will host a six night Wii competition to include challenges in each of the five Wii Sports. Four players from each night will move on to play against each other in the finals on June 28. The overall winner will recieve a Nintendo Wii console prize package.

The tournament will be at the Centennial Club, from June 23-28 starting at 6pm.

Blue Pin Special is Back!

The Bowling Center will be offering a free game coupon for those patrons that throw a strike when the blue pin is in the head pin or (1) pin position. The front desk must be notified of the blue pin shot before the actual delivery is made. If a strike is earned, a free game coupon will be issued for use during a future visit to the bowling center. Free games can not be combined with other offers.

Bowling Lunch Special

Any authorized patron purchasing a "Lunch Special" at the Bowling Center will be able to bowl 1 free game during the same day visit. BOSS Golf Outing

On May 30, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., BOSS will host a golf outing at the Underwood Golf Complex. Shot gun start at 8:30 a.m. Four person teams. $60 per team/$15 per person. Teams will only be Military Personnel (Active, Reserves, National Guard, and Retired Soldiers). Limit of 18 teams. Price includes Green Fees, 1 bucket of balls for the driving range and lunch. The Underwood V. 2008 MWR Military Long Drive Championship

On August 22 at 4:30 p.m., the George V. Underwood Golf Complex will host the MWR Long Drive Championship presented by 7UP. This event is one-day and is an official Long Drivers of America (LDA) qualifier. Cost: $10 per try. Local Installation Prizes: 1st Place: $300 Pro Shop Gift Certificate & Adams 460cc Red Line Driver, 2nd Place: $150 Pro Shop Gift Certificate, 3rd Place: $ 50 Pro Shop Gift Certificate. The top long drive competitor at each of the (5) geographical zones who records the longest drive, will win an all expense paid trip to compete in the military division at the Long Drive Championship in Mesquite NV. Airfare, ground transportation, lodging, tickets to the entire event and additional rounds of golf at world renown courses are included.

The Active Duty Service Member who hits the longest qualified drive during the Military Division of the 7UP Long Drive Championship will win $10,000 and be featured on the ESPN coverage of the event. Only Active Duty service members, Reserve and National Guard both active and inactive are eligible to compete.
