One-stop shopping for school information Pre-K thru 12TH grade.
Fort Bliss will host its annual Education Information Fair for all military families on Thursday, July 30, 2009, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Centennial Club, Bldg 11199 at East Bliss (Biggs Airfield).
The fair will allow parents to meet face-to-face with school administrators (Principals, Asst Principals and Counselors) and receive up-to-date school information. This is great opportunity for new military families to learn about the many school choices and school programs available in the El Paso/Fort Bliss area.
In addition, the El Paso School District will offer PRE-REGISTRATION to all NEW STUDENTS arriving to the El Paso/Fort Bliss area. Pre-Registration time - (8:30 am - 11:00 am). Needed documents are: Birth Certificate, Report Card, Withdrawal Slip, Transcripts from previous school, up-to-date Immunization Record, Special Education documentation (IEP's if applicable), proof of residence (housing orders or water/electricity utility bill) and Social Security Card.
Over one-hundred school entities will participate, to include all nine public school districts, parochial, private, home-school, charter as well as the Army Community Services, Region 19 Headstart, Advocacy Inc., and Fort Bliss Child Care programs. A representative from Childcare Management Services will be available to assist families with financial concerns regarding daycare.

Participants must register with central registration to participate. Payment is due at time of registration in order to ensure placement in the class. Registration for classes opens from the 20th of the month prior to the 7th of the month you are enrolling for. Classes must have at lease 5 participants to take place, if not class will be cancelled and refund money will be placed on a household account. If you are interested in signing up or being put on a waiting list for any of the above classes please come to Bldg. 1743, Central Enrollment & Registration or call 569-7732.
Fort Bliss Child, Youth and School Services will sponsor the Summer Food Services Program through Aug. 21. Meals will be provided free of charge to children 1 through 18 years of age Monday through Friday at the following sites:
- Main CDC will serve breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Logan CDC will serve breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Main SAS will serve breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Logan SAS will serve snack from 3-4 p.m.
- The Middle School and Teen Center will serve lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and snack from 3-4 p.m.
- Bldg. 449 will serve lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 3-7.
- Kelly Park will host lunch and fun activities every Wednesday from June 17-Aug. 12. Activities will take place from 9:30-11 a.m. and lunch will be held from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Come join in with your friends this summer for lots of fun and excitement at one of our two day camp locations! SAS will offer full-day structured and supervised activities during the summer break, June 8-Aug. 22. Camps are open to all CYSS children completing first through fifth grades in the 2008-09 school year. The fun begins daily at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. with extended care hours from 5:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Both SAS sites – Main SAS, Bldg. 131, and Logan SAS, Bldg. 3505 – will offer field trips, tours, bowling, roller skating, computers, matinees, math and science exploration, tennis, cooking and craft projects, swimming, picnics, sports and a variety of 4-H projects. Fees are based upon total family income and can range from $29 to $91 a week or $18 a day. Ask about our 20 percent multiple child discount for siblings in regular care at either our CDC or SAS programs or with an FCC provider!
Children must be registered with Child, Youth and School Services before attending. Spaces are limited and advance payments are required. To make an appointment to register, call 568-4374. Walk-ins are accepted at Central Registration Office, located in the ITR facility, Bldg. 1743. You will need to bring with you the child’s shot records and physical forms, child’s birth certificate, your military ID and most recent LES. Child Development Services will offer a summer program for children who have completed kindergarten (rising first-graders), and Youth Services will offer a Middle School and Teen Summer Program for youth completing sixth grade and up in the 2008-2009 school year. Team Bliss Youth Sports is proud to offer a special Baseball Camp led by Nick Martin on July 14-16 for 8-13 year old boys and girls. Cost is $49 for each child.
This camp is for the serious player and will meet at the Omar Bradley field complex from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the designated camp dates. Camp size is limited to 50 children and each camper will receive Diablos T-shirts with their names on the back. Awards will be given at the end of the camp.
Your child must be a Child, Youth and School Services member, if not please register at Central Enrollment and Registration (call 568-4374 to make an appointment). Children must also have a current sports physical on file. The youth sports department can be reached at 568-2617 for additional information.
Family Child Care has a school-age homes opening for the summer. The ratio is one adult to eight school-age children. Five providers have space for full-time school-age children. Fees are assessed by category of registered children. Call 568-4374 to register and 568-4198 for Family Child Care. There are few infant spaces in FCC; however, military families may seek care with Army Child Care in your neighborhood by calling 838-3581.
Mickelsen Community Library hosts Read Me a Story for 2-5 year olds on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Family Story Time for 2-6 year olds on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. Story hour consists of stories, songs and games, and simple crafts and usually lasts about one hour. Parents must remain with their children during story time. Mickelsen Community Library is located in the basement of Bldg 2E. Call 568-6156 for more information.
Every Saturday except those associated with a 4 day holiday weekend, Logan CDC is open. Saturday hours are 1:00 p.m. until midnight. All CYSS registered children from 4 weeks through 5th grade are eligible. The CDC provides wrap around services for the SAS youth. Children participate in a variety of age appropriate activities and are served snacks and dinner. Costs are based on the hourly rate per child. To ensure proper staffing, reservations are required and can be made at any CYSS program or calling the Logan CDC at 568-3989. Reservations can be made the same day by calling Logan CDC 568-3989.
Due to ongoing renovations at ACS, some classes may be held at the Fort Bliss Bowling Center (based on availability). Please contact ASC for location of classes by calling 568-1132.

Trans - Parenting
Class Focus is to establish co-parenting guidelines to help children with changes is living situations in new family structures and the needs of the children. 2009 Class dates:
