FCC homes are certified when training, background clearance, and fire, safety, and health inspections are passed. FCC Providers may gain a CDA and become accredited by the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC). Once accredited, the providers require an annual report of changes and improvements. The entire accreditation process is repeated every three years. The training and annual inspections help maintain quality child care in each home.

Parents select FCC providers from the ArmyFCC online Web site at the Central Enrollment and Registration (CDR) Office. Parents take a virtual tour of the homes by reading the profile containing a paragraph and picture of provider, family, indoor, outdoor, dining, and quiet areas. The phone numbers are given to the parent to arrange an interview. When a provider is chosen the parent must get a copy of the registration packet and pay fees in advance.

Philosophy

The purpose of FCC is to provide quality, affordable child care. We are dedicated to providing a safe, healthy environment; positive, enriching learning experiences and loving care for your child.

Making Your FCC Home Experience a Positive One

It is important that parents establish a good relationship with the FCC providers. Spend time at the homes before you enroll your child. Ask questions about the program and observe the activities. Provide all the information needed about your child and family so that the FCC providers can have the background needed to provide good quality care.

Please read all the materials given to you. It is important that you understand all the requirements before you enroll your child (ren). Once you are a member, it is important to read the notices, special requests, notes and other materials the FCC providers and staff give you.

When dropping your child off or picking up at the FCC home take a few minutes to talk to the provider. Drop in occasionally during the day to observe how your child interacts with the provider and their peers. We encourage parents to volunteer in their child's FCC home and on field trips. We also encourage FCC parents to attend Parent Council meetings and the many special activities sponsored during the year by Child and Youth Services. Parent involvement is one of the most important parts of a successful experience with child care.

Drop-off & Pick-up

Children may not be released to siblings or other child under the age of 14 unless approved by the director on a case-by-case basis.
