Understanding Military Spouse Preference

Spouses of active duty sponsors are afforded Military Spouse Preference if all of the following conditions are met:

• They are applying for an NF-03 position or below
• The marriage took place prior to the relocation (PCS move).
• Since the relocation, the spouse has not accepted or declined a continuing position. A continuing position is one that is expected to last one year or more, regardless of work schedule. (This includes positions with Appropriated Fund (AF) and AAFES)
• The spouse meets established qualification requirements and
• Provides a copy of sponsors PCS orders assigning them to Ft. Bliss.
