Lending ClosetThe loan closet is stocked with household items to use before your household goods arrive or after you have packed out for your new assignment. Items may be borrowed for 30 days. ID cards and a copy of your PCS orders are required. The Lending Closet is located at ACS, Bldg. 2494 on Ricker Road, and can be contacted at 569-4ACS (4227). The Army Community Service Information and Referral Specialists will provide you with automated welcome packets on any DoD military installation worldwide while you wait. Assigned to an isolated location far from an installation? Not a problem. Internet access will provide localized information. How do you find that isolated location within CONUS? Computerized route-maps will take you there. English as a Second Language / SPANISH CLASSESACS offers English as a Second Languags and Spanish classes on a rotating basis. Anyone interested in ESL/Spanish Classes should contact 915-569-4227 #6. These classes are fre and limited to a maximum of 20 students. People Encouraging People (P.E.P.)This is a newcomer's orientation is a three day class designed especially for military spouses. You'll learn about the services available to you at ACS and other community agencies. There is a tour of Fort Bliss and the surrounding areas. It's a great way to learn your way around and maybe make a new friend. Childcare is reimbursed for all children registered with Child, Youth and School Services. Please call 569-4ACS (4227) for more information or to register. Soldiers clearing the installation are advised that strip maps, showing the location of all agencies that must be cleared, are available at the Army Community Service Information and Referral desk at Bldg. 2494, which is also a required stop in the clearing process. USCIS information office at acs
The El Paso Field Office of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) maintains an information office at Fort Bliss Army Community Service, Bldg. 2494, Ricker Road. This office is open every Wednesday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.. The USCIS officer will answer questions, and provide and review application packets. This service is provided at no cost to service members from any branch of service, retirees, DoD civilians and their immediate relatives. This is a safe location. ACS instructor, briefer and facilitator training
Become an ACS instructor! Army Community Service offers instructor training courses, briefer training courses and facilitator training courses throughout the year.
These courses are mandatory for all ACS staff and any volunteers who will be teaching or briefing. For example, every Army Family Team Building volunteer is mandated to take instructor training and briefer training before they can teach AFTB classes.
Training is open to all ACS employees and volunteers, and to anyone who would like to gain skills in teaching and briefing.
Instructor training courses are offered as a two-day session, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day. Upcoming courses include May 21-22 and August 20-21.
Briefer training courses are offered as a one-day class from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Upcoming courses include July 24 and September 19.
Facilitator training courses are offered as a two-day session, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day. The next facilitator training course is set for October 8-9.
All classes are held at the Family Resilience Center, Bldg. 250 Club Road on Fort Bliss. Pre-registration is required. Register online at blissmwr.com/mtc. For more information, call (915) 569-5500.
National Get Outdoors Day Expo
Get off the couch and get outdoors! The Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club and Southwest Adventure proudly present the National Get Outdoors Day Expo from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 8.
Admission to the National Get Outdoors Day Expo is free and open to all. The event will showcase free demos of shooting, archery, camping, mountain biking and campfire cooking, along with free disc golf, laser tag and water games for the kids. Don't miss displays from outdoors vendors and information on area tourism and activities, as well.
