Fort Bliss Hearts Apart

We provide resources to help cope with the separation and maintain your long distance relationship. Child care is reimbursed for all children registered with Child, Youth and School Services. Fort Sill Relocation Information

Are you relocating to Fort Sill, Oklahoma? Then visit the "FORT SILL ADA BRIC (BRAC Reception and Integration Cell)" Web site. Here, you will have access to relocation information such as housing, schools, Fort Sill photos, as well as numerous links to Fort Sill and Lawton, OK.

You can also participate in a forum, asking specific questions with feedback from personnel located at Fort Sill. All you need is an AKO login. Visit the Web site and get all your relocation questions answered today: https://www.us.army.mil/suite/page/563941.

PCS/ETS

PCSing to a new installation? The Army Community Service Information and Referral Specialists will provide you with automated welcome packets on any DoD military installation worldwide while you wait. Assigned to an isolated location far from an installation? Not a problem. Internet access will provide localized information. How do you find that isolated location within CONUS? Computerized route-maps will take you there.

 

English as a Second Language

ACS will not offer ESL classes for the spring semester. Anyone interested in ESL for the upcoming spring semester should contact San Jacinto Adult Learning Center at (915) 533-9072. They are located downtown at 1216 Olive in downtown El Paso and offer four levels of ESL language instruction for students with limited or no proficiency in the English language. Another resource is El Paso Community College.


Sponsorship

The Total Army Sponsorship Program provides soldiers the opportunity to receive assistance from a trained sponsor upon arrival at Fort Bliss. The Army Community Service Relocation Assistance Program Manager will provide a complete Sponsorship Training Package and Sponsorship Guide to unity trainers so units may train a pool of soldiers qualified to act as sponsors. These files are also available for downloading through the MWR Public Folders via Microsoft Exchange. Child care is reimbursed for all children registered with Child, Youth and School Services. Are you a Soldier who wants to mentor and assist inbound Soldiers and their families who are new to Fort Bliss? Can you show them the ropes and get them acquainted with the post? Sponsorship training is held at ACS from 3-4 p.m. the second Thursday of each month.Additional trainings can be requested by individual units. Spanish classes

We offer conversational Spanish classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Friday. Childcare is reimbursed for all children registered with Child, Youth and School Services. Please call 569-4ACS (4227) for more information or to register.

 

Newcomers Orientation

You are welcome to join us for Newcomers Orientation. The class covers all ACS services and many community resources. This is a mandatory class for all new soldiers E6 and below. Spouses are welcome, as well. Classes are offered from 8-10 a.m. Monday-Friday at Army Community Service. Child care is reimbursed for all children. Registration with Child, Youth and School Services is not required. Please call 569-4ACS (4227) for more information.

 

Lending Closet

The loan closet is stocked with household items to use before your household goods arrive or after you have packed out for your new assignment. Items may be borrowed for 30 days. ID cards and a copy of your PCS orders are required. The Lending Closet is located at ACS, Bldg. 2494 on Ricker Road, and can be contacted at 569-4ACS (4227). Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-4:30 p.m.

People Encouraging People (P.E.P.)

This is a newcomer's orientation is a three day class designed especially for military spouses. You'll learn about the services available to you at ACS and other community agencies. There is a tour of Fort Bliss and the surrounding areas. It's a great way to learn your way around and maybe make a new friend. Childcare is reimbursed for all children registered with Child, Youth and School Services. Please call 569-4ACS (4227) for more information or to register. Soldiers clearing the installation are advised that strip maps, showing the location of all agencies that must be cleared, are available at the Army Community Service Information and Referral desk at Bldg. 2494, which is also a required stop in the clearing process. USCIS information office at acs
The El Paso Field Office of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) maintains an information office at Fort Bliss Army Community Service, Bldg. 2494, Ricker Road. This office is open every Wednesday and Friday. The USCIS officer will answer questions, and provide and review application packets. This service is provided at no cost to service members from any branch of service, retirees, DoD civilians and their immediate relatives. This is a safe location. For more information, call 568-1132.

Bellydance classes at ACS

The Relocation Assistance Program at Army Community Service offers free bellydance classes! Classes will meet from 4-5 p.m.  February 2, February 9, February 16, March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22 and March 29 at ACS, Bldg. 2494 Ricker Road.

Multicultural Support Group potlucks

The Relocation Assistance Program at Army Community Service sponsors a Multicultural Support Group potluck each month. Upcoming potlucks include January 19, February 16, March 16 and April 19. The group meets from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day.

Bring a dish from your country for all to share! The Multicultural Support Group is a great was to meet new friends and try fabulous food.

Free car care clinic

Learn basic auto care, including changing oil, checking tire pressure and more at the Relocation Assistance Program Auto Care Clinic.

These free clinics are held at the Auto Crafts Center, Bldg. 820 Marshall Road. Upcoming classes are scheduled for January 26, April 27, July 17 and October 16. Classes run from 1:30-4 p.m. each day.

Class participation is capped at 10 guests. Child care vouchers are provided for CYSS-registered children. Pre-registration is required; register online at www.blissmwr.com/relocation. To learn more, contact the Relocation Assistance Program at (915) 569-4ACS (4227).

ACS Annex open on East Fort Bliss

Army Community Service now has two locations to better serve you: the main post location and a new annex on East Fort Bliss!

If you're out east, save time and gas by visiting the East Bliss annex at Bldg. A-479 Kasserine Rd., located between Saber and Thunderhorse roads. All ACS services are available at this location. Take advantage of full-service programs from Information and Referral, Financial Readiness, Mobilization and Deployment, Relocation Assistance, Exceptional Family Member Program and the lending closet. Limited services are offered by the Employment Readiness Program, Army Family Action Plan, Family Advocacy Program, Army Volunteer Corps, Army Family Team Building and Army Emergency Relief (located in A-478). If utilizing any of these services, call the main post ACS, Bldg. 2494 Ricker Road, determine which office can best serve you.
