SKIESUNLIMITED is an acronym for "School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration, and Skills" with the word "Unlimited" for the unlimited possibilities this program can offer Army children and youth. SKIESUNLIMITED encompasses instructional programs for children and youth ranging from four weeks old to adolescence. Through SKIES, children and youth in Child Development Services, School Age Services, Middle School, and Teen Programs as well as Home Schooled Children, have equal access to opportunities that expand their knowledge, inspire them, allow them to explore, and acquire new skills.

Instructional Programs Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Implement, manage and coordinate Schools of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills (SKIESUnlimited)
  • SKIESUnlimited, School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills are the framework for the Army's Child and Youth Services (CYS) Instructional Programs
    • It consists of classes designed to complement and support the experiences children and youth have in ARMY CYS and in schools.

The goal of the SKIESUnlmited Program is to ensure predictability and consistency in the availability, affordability and quality of instructional classes offered. There are four schools: School of Arts, School of Sports, School of Life Skills and School of Academics.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

SKIESUnlimited PAID INSTRUCTORS NEEDED:

Looking for skilled instructors for a wide variety of child and youth instructional classes for the Fort Bliss Community. Wages are set by average wage scale within the area. Some of the classes we need are Guitar, Foreign Language; German & French, all types of Art, Cooking with Kids, Computer and Science Camps, just to name a few areas we are looking for. SKIESUnlimited VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTORS NEEDED:

Join the Child & Youth Services (CYS) family as a child/youth instructor. The new Schools of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration & Skills is looking for qualified, caring volunteer instructors for the School of Arts, School of Sports, School of Academics, and the School of Life Skills. Our classes will serve infants through high school seniors in a wide vary of subjects and interests.

CYS offers a free training program to our instructors suitable to use for future employment; a background clearance is required; SKIES will work with instructors to assist in days and times which are most convenient for the instructor as much as possible.

Extracurricular offerings are so very important to our children and youth; bring your education, knowledge, skills and know-how to our kids. Ideas for classes: cooking, sewing, scrap-booking, fashion design, cultural dance and dress, conversational foreign languages, fitness, fun with games, woodworking, computer graphics, web page making, robotics, photography, metal work, arts, crafts, automobile repair, bike repair, making costumes, make-up & grooming, pet care, and reading to name just a few.

Class Calendar & Class Flyers

Contact 569-7732 for more information. Must be registered with CYS Central Enrollment & Registration. You can register for these classes starting on the 20th of the month prior to the 7th of the month you are enrolling for. All classes must have 5 participants in order to take place.

Automotive maintenance class

Teens who are interested in repairing cars are welcome to attend the class. Instructor will contact you with day and time. Cost is $45. To reserve your spot call call 569-7732. Must have 5 participants for the class to take place.

Academic Tutoring: Math/Reading TAKS testing preparation

BLDG 3508, Monday & Wednesday

Early Childhood, Ages 3-6: 2:30–3:15 or 3:45–4:30

Academic, Ages 7 & up: 4:30-5:30pm or 5:30–6:30pm

Cost: $100 per month, 1 class per week. $135 per month, 2 classes per week.

Limit of 5 students per class.

Drivers Education Classes

El Paso Northeast Driving School is now holding drivers education classes, for ages 15 and up.

Cost is $260.00 plus $10 schedule to drive fee. Classes meet Monday thru Thursday, 6-8pm

Next class is scheduled for January 21.

Fashion Modeling Class

Bldg. 3508

$90 for 6 sessions (new models). Each sesion is 2 hours long. Ages 14 & up.

Only Modeling Club will have class After attending modeling classes, you can be a part of the Modeling Club. The modeling club provides advanced runway training, modeling tips to include hair and make-up, and how to put on a fashion show production. Models will also participate in future fashion shows. Be part of this and more for only $50.00 per year.
