Fort Bliss has a healthy MWR program with strong events and attractive facilities, including two nationally certified Child Development Centers; the largest NCO club in The Army, Centennial NCO Club; the largest bowling facility in The Army, Fort Bliss Bowling Center; the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program (BOSS); a two 18-hole golf complex, Sunrise and Sunset Courses; Biggs Paintball Park; and our newest addition, the Tango Tower.

Sponsorship seeks to partner local businesses with MWR programs, services or events which will enhance the Soldier experience, while providing a benefit to the community.

As a sponsor, you can support an individual event, an entire yearly program, or simply provide giveaways for attendees. You may provide full underwriting or partial financial support for one or for a group of MWR programs or activities. Door prizes and giveaways are always welcome.

By sponsoring an entire MWR program, you receive the maximum coverage for your contribution. For each event covered under that program, you would receive logo coverage or mention on all publicity efforts, premium banner placement, opportunity for display table or booth, etc.

Here are our 2007 - 2008 major events which will need funding:

Uncle Sam Jam

Fort Bliss MWR hosts Uncle Sam Jam in July for an Independence Day extravaganza. The event, held at Biggs Park with free admission, is in appreciation for all military service members and their families for their dedication and commitment. The main event will be a concert by JAGSTAR, led by Sarah Lewis. Sarah and the band have played to troops all over the world including, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay. Local Band, Brown Betty will open and a tribute band (to be determined) will play in between. Other available activities include food and beverage vendors, jumping Balloons, Climbing wall, paintball, sports activities and much more. The event will end with a spectacular fireworks display.

German American Night Run

The 14th Annual Fort Bliss German-American Oktoberfest Night Run takes place in September at Kelly Park. This run has established itself as one of the most recognized running events in El Paso. Over 800 people usually participate, amongst them 300 to 400 walkers and 15 to 20 military teams. The event is open to all community members, not just military personnel. In the past, the event has attracted participants from as far as Washington State and Washington, D.C. Pre-race activities begin at 4 pm and will include Oktoberfest music and a variety of entertainment, along with the sale of German Bratwurst and pastries and other refreshments.

AFTB Golf Tournament

The event is a fundraiser for the Fort Bliss Army Family Team Building Program, an Army-Wide educational program for the family members of Department of Defense personnel. The program is designed to give family members and soldiers the tools to survive and thrive in the military environment. AFTB helps to support the nation’s defense by empowering military family members to be self-sufficient decision makers. The Fort Bliss AFTB program is self supporting with this golf tournament being its largest fundraiser. Each year we seek 18 local businesses and/or organizations to sponsor one hole on the golf course during the tournament. You also have the option of underwriting the event to maximize your coverage. The event is hosted in May.
